What is LCL?
LCL (Less than Container Load) can be described as the consignments equivalent of public transport. But instead of passengers sharing a transport, several smaller shipments are assembled and shipped together. The freight forwarder combines the consignments to make up a full container load. At the port of destination, the consolidated shipment is separated back into the original individual consignments for delivery to their respective consignees. This arrangement allows the goods to be shipped as containerised cargo at lower shipping rates, and the customer achieves substantial savings on freight costs.
Which company will benefit from LCL?
The retail, automotive, oil and gas, chemicals, and ecommerce industries are frequent users of LCL consolidation. There are almost no limitations as to what kind of goods can be shipped. Many small and midsize businesses use LCL frequently simply because they don’t have the volume to fill a full container, and waiting until they do would mean missing delivery deadlines. We offer scheduled departures from Yantian, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Qingdao and Xiamen in China, and Keelung, Kaohsiung and Taichung in Taiwan, to Gothenburg, Oslo, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Århus in Scandinavia, Gdynia in Poland and Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius in the Baltics. Departures from Scandinavia go to Busan in South Korea and Shanghai in China.
