There are many ways of doing things in both life and business. At Greencarrier we believe in commitment, involvement, humour and joy. These words define who we are and what we stand for. This is the foundation for how we do business in a responsible and sustainable way. Some people call it Corporate Social Responsibility, we call it the Greencarrier Spirit.
Why contributing to a sustainable future is important
The phrase “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something” might seem cliché, but that doesn’t make it any less true. Especially when looking at all the things we actually can do together to create a sustainable future.
Sustainability is important because all the choices we pursue and all the actions that we make today, will affect everything in the future. We need to make sound decisions at present, in order to avoid limiting the choices of generations to come.
By caring for the communities we work in, the environment around us and our employees we contribute to a sustainable future.
How the Greencarrier Spirit contributes to sustainability
We aim to be a company driven by committed individuals, we want everyone to feel involved and we want to enjoy our work by being generous and open-minded. This is also how we have defined our corporate values.
We have many good examples of how we work with sustainability, both locally and globally. For example, in Shanghai, China, we support Heart-to-Heart which is an organization that help fund heart surgeries for children from poor families. In Sweden, Gothenburg, we contribute to The Rescue Mission of Gothenburg’s work for the homeless.
We also help young people enter employment by providing work experience, we support environmental activity by evaluating our suppliers and we constantly try to figure out better ways to improve working environment and conditions. We are also members of the WWF (World Wide fund for Nature) and support their project to save the Baltic sea.
Our CSR activities are based on the UN’s Global Compact, which provides guidelines for ethical business based on human rights, employment rights, environmental aware-ness and anti-corruption.
We’re a transport company that prioritise the environment
The impact of transportation on the environment is inherently negative. That’s why it’s important for us to be involved in environmental issues. Our ambition is to increase our efforts to improve our environmental impact by finding more projects to support in this field.
