“Our common goal is to raise at least SEK 1 million,” says Tommy Ivarsson, co-founder and communications manager at the Jontefonden.

When the Swedish Ship Götheborg sails during the summer months of 2020 and 2021, this is made possible by Gothenburg-based logistics company Greencarrier AB, which has entered into and assumed the financial and operational responsibility for the ship.

– We at Greencarrier are very proud that Jontefonden will become a partner to the Götheborg ship 2020, and that the important issue regarding organ transplant is highlighted.
For us, sustainability and CSR mean that we care, and take long-term responsibility for the world around us and the people in it. At Greencarrier we care about our company, our employees and our customers and partners, while also taking responsibility for our contribution to society and the planet, says Stefan Björk, owner of Greencarrier AB.

Almedals Week and the Royal Palace
Jontefondens Collection Foundation, like the Swedish Ship, originated in Gothenburg. It is also in Gothenburg that the Nordic region’s largest specialist hospital for children exists, with a complete transplant program through Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s national specialization mission.

– Jontefonden primary mission is to build knowledge and insight into what it is like to live before, during and after a transplant, both towards politicians, the public system and among the public. Especially when the ship will be in Visby, among others, during the Almedals week and before that in Stockholm, anchored below the Royal Palace, says Tommy Ivarsson.

Previous sailings show that Götheborg has a very high attractiveness and attracts large numbers of people. During the summer expedition, about a quarter of a million curious visitors are expected.

– Our theme 2020 is sustainability and that also includes the human perspective. We are therefore pleased that together with Greencarrier AB we can collaborate with Jontefonden during our Tour 2020, says Peter Alexandersson, CEO of SOIC Ship Management AB.
