We may be a logistics and transport company, but nevertheless do we care about things outside our own industry. Greencarrier’s heart pounds for many CSR projects, and one of them is Barngolfen – a fundraising project to support ill children.
Charity golf to raise money for Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital
Greencarrier is involved in Barngolfen (The Children’s Golf) in Gothenburg, Sweden. We have been proud participants and sponsor of Barngolfen previous years, and this year was no exception.
Barngolfen is the largest charity golf in the Nordic countries with a fundraising purpose for the children’s hospital, Drottning Silvias Barnsjukhus in Gothenburg, Sweden. The money raised is used for making life easier for the children, and to foster the recovery by creating a healing environment and meaningful moments. We are very proud to be a part of the golf tournament and to help these children, who often spend a long time in the hospital.
Raising money together with Swedish hockey professional Jörgen Pettersson
This golf day, many celebrities and golf professionals together with companies play Barngolfen. For Greencarrier, Björn Eklund, Stefan Björk and Britt-Marie Johannesson played together with the Swedish hockey professional Jörgen Pettersson and the golf Pro Viva Schlasberg. They did a really good job!
This year, we also had a booth where visitors could accept a challenge and had the chance to win a Greencarrier bike (see what our bikes look like on our Instagram!). The person who managed to hit a golf ball closest to a flag won! At the banquet after the event, the winners gave the bikes to the auction where they raised another 25 000 SEK to the hospital!
Last year, the golf tournament raised 2.2 MSEK, which was the best fundraising amount in the history for Barngolfen – until 2015! This year, we raised 2 750 000 SEK in total! We are very happy to be part of such a successful result.
