Breaking new ground: Ondrej Zelenka’s vision for Greencarrier’s expansion in the Czech Republic

This year, Greencarrier Consolidators took a big step in its growth journey by expanding into the Czech Republic and opening a new office in Prague. To spearhead this exciting venture, Ondrej Zelenka has been appointed as the branch manager. In this article, we introduce Ondrej and explore his vision and plans for navigating this dynamic new market.

Q: What excites you most about starting operations in the Czech Republic?

It’s an opportunity to build a new and fresh way of providing consolidation services. By combining the values of Greencarrier with a personal and customer-centred approach, I’m looking forward to creating something impactful here. The Czech market is vibrant, with plenty of untapped potential.

Q: Can you share some insights about the logistics  market in the Czech Republic?

The market shows strong demand for consolidated shipments and cost-effective inland transport, with major ports like Hamburg playing a key role. Southern ports, especially Koper, are growing quickly and have become important for the local market. We are now focusing on developing our direct service from China to Prague as a key product alongside our other services.

Q: What industries are prominent in the Czech Republic, and how do they influence your approach?

As a neutral consolidator, we serve freight forwarders, enabling us to provide impartial and efficient solutions. The Czech Republic boasts a diverse industrial base, with key sectors including automotive, machinery, electronics, and retail. The rapid growth of e-commerce further strengthens these markets. This industrial landscape drives a high demand for imports, which is why we prioritized establishing a reliable import service from China to meet our customers’ needs effectively.

Q: What trends do you see shaping the logistics industry in the Czech Republic?

Sustainability and digitalization are the two biggest trends. Sustainability is still in its early stages here, but it’s gaining momentum. Certificates for emissions and eco-friendly transport options are becoming increasingly important. Digitalization is also taking off, albeit more slowly than in regions like the Nordics. We’re ensuring we’re prepared for both developments as they accelerate and can already offer options like Maritime Biofuel Insets to customers.

Q: What services will be your primarily offer to customers?

In addition to import and export LCL products, such as direct service from China to Prague, IPI services (Inland Point Intermodal), and a bonded warehouse in Prague, we aim to provide a personalized approach to each customer. Tailored solutions and building strong relationships are our top priorities.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share about your future plans?

Ultimately, we’re here to build a new consolidation service that’s trusted, neutral, young, and fresh. By collaborating closely with our branches and worldwide partners, I’m confident we can bring a new perspective to consolidation services in the Czech Republic. It’s a great time to be starting this journey!
